Sage's 13th & Halloween

Wow, Sage's a teenager now.  He's growing up.  This year was the first year all three kids did something different.  Sage stayed in town, Abby trick-or-treated with her friend Sidney in Hemet, Emi was at school.  Guess that's how it's gonna be as they get older.  *sniff* sniff*

How old are you?  Hope you enjoy your birthday cinnamon rolls.

Abby and Sidney were Siamese Twins.  Sage didn't give much thought to his costume this year.

With his BFFs.  They stayed in town for the parade and carnival.

Abby wanted to try door-to-door trick-or-treating so we went down to Hemet.

B-day desert, Baskin Robbins' Wild 'n Reckless Sherbet.  He sure likes that flavor.  (blue raspberry, green apple, and fruit punch sherbet)

Yes Sage, you can have Facebook.

Happy birthday Sage!

Cross Country

I never thought one of our kids would become a distance runner.  But Sage joined the cross country team this year, Misty decided to create a team.  He never seemed like the type to enjoy endurance activities, even hated going hiking.  But running is good for you, glad he decided to take it up.  It'll give him a fall sport at Hemet High also.  Unfortunately, him running regularly made him fast enough to beat my mile record by about 30 seconds.  That's ok, Emi hasn't beaten it.  ^_^

Girls Volleyball

Abby's in sixth grade now, and not sure what made her decide to play sports but she joined the middle school girls volleyball team.  She's never really played before except the little bit of bumping around here and there.  This is her first time playing organized sports.  It seems like she is showing an interest in sports.  I think she's a natural athlete and once she's comfortable she should do pretty good.

Last Beach Trip for 2012

Run sandcrabs run!

Sage sure likes to dig, even when he was little.

Emi, staying dry.

Abby the Flautist

Abby's second year playing the flute.  I don't see her practicing much but I guess she's pretty good for how long she's been playing.  The sight reading skills she learned with the piano is coming in handy.

LA County Fair

One of things on my do-with-the-kids-bucket list was to take them to the fair.  But going to the fair has turned into one of those things that just ain't cheap anymore.  I thought I'd have to save up a couple hundred dollars.  Then lo and behold the news was on and they had a segment on the LA County Fair, Labor Day weekend was only a buck to enter plus various deals on games and drinks at different times of the day.  And that was it.  The next day we went to the fair.

Of course Abby had to bring Pinto.

Another collective coin for Abby.

Probably the closest thing they'll get to standing in front of a London guard.

Ha ha, Sage's a girl.

Entered one of those expo halls.  This guy had a shoe cleaner he demonstrated on Emi's shoe.

Pig Race.  They raced these really small pigs, they were so cute. The races only lasted ten seconds though.
Kinda messed up them passing this out after the pig races.

My three little pigs.

Chinese acrobats.  They were really cool.

View from the ferris wheel.  I think this was my first time on one also.

Abby wins herself a prize.

Petting zoo.

Emi rides the spinny ride.

The invention exhibit was really cool too.  This was Ben Franklin's self-powered chair/fan.

There was so much to do, we probably only saw about half of it but did a lot and had a good day.

Jazz Fest

Emi worked for Sacco Dining at IAA this summer and they gave her a couple tickets to the Jazz Fest.  Since Abby is still under 12, she was able to get in free with an adult, so the three of us went and checked it out.  It was neat seeing all the vendors and listening to live music.
